Inclusive recruitment with Aspire

Inclusive recruitment involves connecting with, interviewing and hiring a diverse range of individuals through the understanding and valuing of different backgrounds and opinions. An environment that values inclusive recruiting considers how different experiences and views can work together to achieve a common goal.

Aspire's inclusive recruitment team works to create meaningful employment opportunities by matching the skills and needs of work-ready candidates and employers. We work with a wide range of employers across Oxfordshire and the wider Thames Valley, in sectors including: Adult Social Care, Construction, Engineering, Hospitality, Renewable Energy, Retail and Customer Service and Warehouse Operation.

Our specialist services include:

  • Permanent placements - for candidates sourced from various pathways such as Aspire's internal employability projects, partner agencies and self-referrals, with a holistic six-month in-work support package to aid retention in the workplace.
  • Inclusive recruitment support - providing bespoke advice about inclusive recruitment to benefit your workplace including brokering introduction of work-ready candidates.
  • ESOL for business - Aspire runs English language courses, aimed at providing its learners with the vocabulary and idiom of specific business sectors.

Fairer Access to Work Programme

From May 2024, we are working in partnership with The Midcounties Co-operative to offer the “fairer access to work” programme, providing work experience placements with The Midcounties Cooperative in accessible community venues, including food retail stores in Marston and Rose Hill.

These professional environments will allow individuals the opportunity to develop their work-related skills, gain confidence in a supported work environment, and gain knowledge and understanding of how retail environments operate, building their employability. Participants will also have access to person-centred employment and development support from Aspire in the process, working with a dedicated support worker to identify gaps in their work skills, access onward learning activities to address these, and gaining a professional work reference as part of their job searching activity.
