Homelessness prevention

Homelessness Prevention

Aspire's homelessness prevention service is designed to provide support and advice to people across Oxfordshire who are concerned about their housing situation.

You may have lost your job, got behind in paying your rent, breached a tenancy agreement or experienced a family breakdown. There are many reasons why people can become at risk of homelessness, and it can happen quickly. That's why Aspire's homelessness prevention service has been launched, to provide practical help and support at the earliest stage to prevent homelessness.

Aspire's team of Community Navigators are here to help, and the sooner you contact us, the sooner we can help you stay in your home.

What we can offer:

  • Support and guidance specific to your individual situation, for Oxford City, South and Vale, Cherwell District and West Oxfordshire
  • We work alongside you to empower you to gain the skills and resilience needed to improve your situation
  • Advocacy and linking with expert advice to help you maintain your tenancy or secure an alternative solution
  • We link up with other supports that you have (or need) in place, to provide a whole team approach
  • Opportunities for training, work experience and employment
  • Referrals to other agencies as needed
  • Our team are approachable, understanding and here to work with you

About our homelessness prevention programme:

Aspire's homelessness prevention programme launched as a pilot in May 2018, as part of a multi-agency project known as Trailblazer. Our homelessness prevention programme is designed to help local people to build their resilience and prevent their homelessness. By engaging with people at risk of homelessness before crisis point is reached, there is far more potential to work with individuals and use their energy, ideas and resilience to create a better outcome together.

At the heart of our homelessness prevention approach is partnership working with multiple agencies, statutory services, housing authorities and health partners to reach those most in need.

If you are concerned about your housing situation, contact one of our Community Navigators as soon as possible. Here's how to get in touch:

Phone us: 01865 204450

Referral routes

Aspire will work in collaboration with multiple agencies to deliver this project and proactively reach those at risk of homelessness. Our homelessness prevention service's referral routes will include health partners in areas of high deprivation across Oxfordshire, housing providers, district housing authorities, Job Centres and Voluntary and Community organisations.

For further information, please contact Barry Dalziel on 07983 854778 or at [email protected].

The need for Aspire's homelessness prevention work continues to increase. By donating to Aspire, you can help our team reach local people in need and protect them from homelessness and rough sleeping.
