Supported housing for prison leavers in east Oxford

In September 2019, we were delighted to receive funding to provide supported housing for ex-offenders in east Oxford, providing them with the holistic support they need to move forward with their lives.

We're working with A2Dominion to deliver this project, offering intensive support to individuals in Oxford with experience of the criminal justice system, rough sleeping, drug and alcohol misuse and those who may be at risk of offending.

This collaborative partnership project is the first of its kind in Oxfordshire outside of a statutory setting, and we're very proud to be part of this innovative approach to housing that provides specialist, wrap-around support based on each individual's needs, minimising the number of transitions and time spent in temporary accommodation before access to a permanent home is possible.

On joining our supported housing, participants receive support across a variety of areas, including:

  • Improving their wellbeing and building confidence
  • Taking pride in their surroundings, building meaningful relationships with each other and contributing positively to their household
  • Joining the housing register
  • Staying up to date with rent and any other payments
  • Registering with local services, such as doctor and dental surgeries
  • Connecting with other services in support of their personal development, such as Turning Point
  • Working towards and into employment
