We're very proud to work with a wide range of employers across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to help businesses get started with recruiting from disadvantaged groups. Aspire are an example of inclusive recruitment in action: over 60% of our own workforce has lived experience of homelessness, addiction or offending.

Dedicated recruitment support

Get dedicated recruitment support so you can reach the widest possible pool of talent for your workforce, resolve your staff shortages and increase staff retention. Aspire can:

  • Offer guidance on how best to introduce ‘open recruitment’ for your workplace
  • Promote your employment vacancies to work-ready candidates from our employment programmes
  • Match you with work-ready candidates for whom we can offer current work experience references
  • Offer ‘in work support’ to successful candidates in your workforce
  • Give you a comprehensive Employers' Handbook complete with advice on how to get started with open and inclusive recruitment

Inclusive recruitment events

Aspire organises an annual Employers' Conference focused on supporting businesses to be more inclusive in their recruitment. This conference is the first of its kind in Oxfordshire and attracts high profile businesses including Pret a Manger, Oxford University colleges and John Lewis. This has signalled a major step change in how local employers approach their recruitment.

We also run free workshops for employers on becoming more flexible in their recruitment. In total, to date we have worked with over 140 employers to help them with their inclusive recruitment practices, opening up a whole new range of employment opportunities for our clients.

Laing O’Rourke are always keen to support people into the construction and engineering industry...the industry has a skills shortage and we are happy to do all we can to reach out to people from all walks of life and support them to take up the fantastic opportunities our industry can offer. Our partnership with Aspire, providing work experience to their trainees, is already seeing great results. We look forward to welcoming more Aspire trainees in the future.
