The SLEEP OUT! will be a unique opportunity to support local people out of homelessness, for good. This event is organised by local charities Homeless Oxfordshire and Aspire, and is Oxford's only mass-participation sleepout event. Everyone taking part will spend the night outside armed with just a sleeping bag, roll mat and pillow. We understand that this is a long way from the reality of rough sleeping, but this event will give participants the chance to make a lasting difference to the growing number of people affected by homelessness. Why Sleep Out? Oxfordshire's homeless crisis It's well known that Oxfordshire is facing a growing homeless crisis. There are hundreds of people who are currently homeless and many more who are at serious risk of becoming homeless. The number of rough sleepers in Oxford is increasing by 50% each year and over 100 households approach Oxford City Council every month, reporting as homeless and in need of support. Between us, our charities support hundreds of vulnerable local people right across Oxfordshire every year, providing long-term solutions designed to help people leave homelessness behind them, for good. So by signing up to Sleep Out! you will be making a significant, lasting difference to people's lives. Please note: Sleepers must be aged 16 or over. Anyone aged 16 or 17 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. This is a dry event and alcohol is not permitted on site. If you have any questions about SLEEP OUT! email us at [email protected].
