What we offer

Supporting open and inclusive recruitment

As Aspire Oxford's new Social Recruitment Enterprise, Hire2Inspire match work-ready individuals with employment opportunities. We're very proud to work with a wide range of employers across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire to help businesses get started with recruiting from disadvantaged groups. Aspire are an example of inclusive recruitment in action: over 60% of our own workforce has lived experience of homelessness, addiction or offending.

Dedicated recruitment support

Get dedicated recruitment support so you can reach the widest possible pool of talent for your workforce, resolve your staff shortages and increase staff retention. Aspire can:

  • Invest time in getting to know your business and its recruitment needs
  • Offer guidance on how best to introduce ‘open recruitment’ for your workplace
  • Promote your employment vacancies to work-ready candidates from our employment programmes, through our weekly Jobs Bulletin and online jobs platform
  • Offer a comprehensive recruitment service, from screening candidate suitability to reference-checking and work eligibility
  • Match you with work-ready candidates for whom we can offer current work experience references
  • Offer a 6-month Retention in the Workplace support service for Hire2Inspire candidates successfully placed within your organisation, for a fee substantially below market rates, which is then invested back into our charity
  • Give you a comprehensive Employers' Handbook complete with advice on how to get started with open and inclusive recruitment

Aspire Oxford currently works closely with a core group of like-minded employers who share our values about the importance of workforce diversity, identifying opportunities for individuals who may have experienced disadvantage in their lives. To date, we have forged links with a variety of employers - including Oxford University Colleges, John Lewis, Pret-a-Manger and Hello Fresh.

Inclusive recruitment events

Aspire organises an annual Employers' Conference focused on supporting businesses to be more inclusive in their recruitment. This conference is the first of its kind in Oxfordshire and attracts high profile businesses including Pret a Manger, Oxford University colleges and John Lewis. This has signalled a major step change in how local employers approach their recruitment.

We also run free Inclusive Recruitment workshops to support employers in improving their recruitment practices and introduce diverse talent to the workforce - from entry level to senior management. Here, we address the issues of skills gaps, staff retention and staff shortages, whilst promoting a more inclusive economy. In total, to date we have worked with over 140 employers to help them with their inclusive recruitment practices, opening up a whole new range of employment opportunities for our clients.

Laing O’Rourke are always keen to support people into the construction and engineering industry...the industry has a skills shortage and we are happy to do all we can to reach out to people from all walks of life and support them to take up the fantastic opportunities our industry can offer. Our partnership with Aspire, providing work experience to their trainees, is already seeing great results. We look forward to welcoming more Aspire trainees in the future.
