Barry’s story: Flight Sergeant Barry Mills started working with Aspire in January 2018. Barry joined the RAF at 17 as an Aircraftman and served all over the world. Barry was medically discharged out of the RAF in August 2012 having completed 33 years military service. He was diagnosed with complex PTSD and felt he had “lost all purpose” in his life. Barry has been getting specialist help for his PTSD from the Adult Mental Health Team in Witney and attends Witney Mind. Barry feels he has much to give to the local community and is keen to utilise the skills and knowledge he has gained in the military. Get in touch: If, like Barry, you have served in the military or are in the process of transitioning out of the military and could benefit from this project then please contact Caroline Winn, Aspire’s Employment and Development Worker on 07718 478925 or email [email protected] We would also be delighted to hear from any military charities/organisations or local employers who would like to work in partnership with Aspire as we build our support for ex-military personnel in Oxfordshire.
