Can you tell us about your Aspire journey?

When I was in treatment I heard about Aspire so I came and did some voluntary work and enjoyed all the work that Aspire was doing. So when I got clean I went back to my old job and I didn’t quite fit in so when I heard about a job becoming available at Aspire as an Assistant Team Leader I had to apply and I then got the job.

What projects are you currently working on and what are they hoping to achieve?

I’ve been doing a lot of grounds work, garden maintenance, painting and decorating and sometimes you’ll find me driving the Aspire Community Transport bus. I’m also hoping to get my chainsaw licence soon!

Can you share an Aspire memory that always brings a smile to your face?

The recent trip to France always brings a smile to my face. There’s loads of memories that bring a smile to my face, like sailing on the Norfolk Broads and getting my level one in sailing. I also love the general activities we do here, like canoeing and football.

Movies or Music? Name a guilty pleasure!

Movies! Star Wars, I’m a proper Star Wars fan! I don't have any Music or Movie guilty pleasures but my girlfriend is a beautician so I’m partial to a facemask and that’s as much as i’m willing to share!

Describe Aspire in three words…

I love work.

Over the course of human history, who inspires you the most?

My Dad! He inspires me a lot. I put my dad because he’s taught me a lot, he’s now got dementia and I’ve realised how much he’s really done for me.

What do you do when you’re not at work?

When I can, I love to visit theme parks and going out and having fun really.
