As we emerge from the coronavirus pandemic, we have a unique window of opportunity to take action, and ensure there is no going back to a homelessness and inequality crisis for Oxfordshire.

COVID-19 has shone a spotlight on the unacceptable levels of homelessness and inequality in Oxfordshire, and demonstrated the importance of everyone having a safe place to call ‘home’ with secure, dignified work. We've supported hundreds of people to find or keep secure housing and employment throughout this time. But thousands are now at risk in our local communities, as the tenancy eviction ban and furlough scheme come to an end.

But as we emerge from the other side, and society prepares to reopen, what we do next could change everything. In 2021, our 20th anniversary year, we're determined that there is no going back - join us to work towards a long-term solution.

Our activities over the next year

  • Repurposing three empty properties into homes, with a full time-caseworker and a year's personalisation funding for 6 people: £252,000

  • Setting up a Social Letting Agency with ten properties in Oxfordshire, matching marginalised individuals with a private landlord and a year's tenancy: £100,000

  • Supporting 12 homeless people with highly complex needs through a successful Housing First tenancy across 2 locations for a whole year, with a dedicated caseworker and a year's personalisation funding: £103,000

  • Preventing 60 vulnerably-housed adults or young people from becoming homeless with tailored support and personalisation funding in two locations: £188,000

  • Providing a safe, temporary home with a community host for 30 young people in crisis: £80,000

"We're encouraged by Aspire's determination to work towards ending homelessness in Oxfordshire. Aspire's 20th anniversary campaign No Going Back couldn't come at a better time - we need to take action today as we begin to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic."
